History

Omega was founded in 1848 by Louis Brandt in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. Initially known for assembling key-wound pocket watches, Omega quickly rose to prominence by developing innovative movements and mechanisms. In 1894, the company introduced the “Omega” movement, which became so successful that the brand adopted the name Omega. Over the years, Omega achieved significant milestones, such as being selected as the official timekeeper for the Olympic Games in 1932 and being chosen by NASA for its space missions, including the Apollo 11 moon landing in 1969. Omega’s legacy is built on precision, reliability, and technological advancement. The brand has continued to evolve, introducing Co-Axial escapements and Master Chronometer certifications. Today, Omega remains one of the most respected names in the watch industry, blending tradition with modern innovation.
